Got the 1946 W-9 home today! Pulled the rear wheels, hood, grille, and radiator off and shoved it in the shop. Took the starter off and pried on the ring gear and it came loose! Was it just luck or was it the PB Blaster I sprayed in the cylinders on Monday? Who knows. Parts needed: Carb kit - are they available and where? The bell housing must be full of dirt or something because about 6" of teeth are rusted off the ring gear. Where can I get a new ring gear if I get it running? It turns over pretty freely. Not much compression though. I need to get some parts for the distributor since it only produces a very weak spark. I'm hoping once I get it running the rings will loosen up and I'll get more compression. It was a good day's work. I even fixed the shop up with a decent radio and a clock for this one!
