I don't know if you get Moose down in the States much but I do a fair bit of travelling in the mountains here in Alberta and I would trade a deer for a moose any day. A deer will total your car but it is just short enough that you will usually catch the torso of the deer with the grille. The Moose (not sure how to pluralize that - Meese - like Geese maybe) are a few feet taller than the deer and about 50% again as heavy. The trouble with them is all that you do is clip the legs out from under them and then the torso comes through the windshield - usually fatal for all involved. I hvae been lucky enough to never hit one, but I have seen the results of such a collision and the best description I can come up with is Messy.
