Jimbo, go easy on the old machine. In my opinion 45 seconds for warm weather, and 5 minutes in cold weather is not enough warm up time for full throttle operation even for the lightest working load. Our 574 will act exactly as you say if you do not let it get up to tempurature, after that it clicks like a sewing machine. Good Luck.
