When you slide the wheels, it works a LOT better if you turn the wheel so the movable part of the clamp is on the bottom, with the "split" on a horizontal plane. You'll want about 1/4" of drop between the clamp & the axle. Oil the bottom half of the axle, (be sure to get inside the space between the axle & clamp) turn the wheel so the clamp is on the top, oil again between the wheel & axle, turn the wheel so the bolt heads are up & wiggle on top & bottom. BE CAREFUL, when they start, they go EASY & you can push the wheel off the end of the axle in a heartbeat. DON'T EVEN ASK how I know that this can happen! (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
