The previous is certainly true. However, the intent was for the dealer to loan the demonstrator to the user thereby not aging a new tractor and to gain some notice of the neighbors with that "white" tractor out in the field. I'm not sure if IH made some sort of concession to the dealer for making a new tractor a used one. I also seem to remember that it helped get some exposure to the Super series and to, as previously mentioned, help lagging sales after the pipeline was somewhat full following the war shortages.
