Dan,
On my tractors, I make a gauze filter to stick up into the tank out of the sediment bowl to stop any flakes etc that dislodge over time clogging the hole. I have also found that with some of my tractors they vapourise petrol readily and will cut out after they get a bit hot. The heat control invariably is rusted in one position! I use a kero mix with these ones. The other blokes have come up with some good stuff too.
