Gas is gravity fed to the carb not pumped, it free flows down hill to the carb from the sediment bowl. Then it is pulled up into the engine. The engine actually has nothing to do with the gas getting from the sediment bowl to the carb. It would do that even if the engine was not running. No fuel pump. Hope this helps. boochie
