Robrit, 8v is a common upgrade, especially on Super M's, as a fresh engine often is a little much in the compression dept. for a 6v battery. It's nice because the stock 6v regulater can be adjusted for 8v, the light bulbs, starter, and generator all work fine, and the extra "umph" is nice. We get our 8 volt batteries through Exide (special order...no one seems to stock 'em). No ugly alternator hanging out from under the hood! Pete
