Well, drag racers run alcohol in thier engines, why not tractors? First, you will need to set your carb quite a bit richer. I'm pretty sure it takes more alky than gasoline to run an engine. As for timing, I think you could advance it more since the alcohol has a cooling effect on the engine. Actually, I don't know how you could damage one of these old tractors so I would try it. Go for it and let us know what happens. You should be able to tune "by ear" with your H for sure and the 300 isn't really different. I would start with the H as it probably has lower compression ratio and less chance of detonating. Maybe someone else on here knows more...
