Sounds like good advice.
I just had the pto and the 3rd link plate off of my 1066 - replacing the torsion tube. Can't recall just how far forward the suction tube reaches toward the front of the tractor, but if the oil level got low enough, it makes sence that a steep incline could let the tube run above the oil.
