What i mean is do you have to much timimg at full throttel i always check the curb idel timing at the slowest that i can get the engine to run at then i check the total adv. at full throttel and see if the advance is doing what it is suppose to . I know that there is no fuel adjustment on a cub carb but some time a small pice of dirt or rust can block that jet and lean them out. And as far as the clearance on the skirt to wall i would have to look into my books but i think it is a shade to tight . All ya can do is let it break in a littel more on lite work and see if it losens up but there are some things to check . I know that the new machinest of today like to build them tight but this is not a car engine . Anoter thing try some better gas in it 87 octain burns hotter then the 89 or 93 and make sure that it is 100% pure gas as the stuff with alcohol will lean out when it burns.
