My H has always started without using the choke. the only time it didn't was when I put new points and condenser in it and had the gap alittle too wide. (didn't have a feeler gauge and just guessed) But since I fixed that problem it starts fine. I can leave it sittin a month then come over put it about 1/4 throttle and it the switch and there she goes. I think a simple tune up will help out your problem. Have fun Richard
