340 row crop trans amp

I have a international farmall row crop tractor with a loader on it.What happens when I push into a pile of stone or dirt the tractor will not come out of gear to back up,if I lift it or take forward load of it it shifts fine.I think it could be that trans amplifer but have no idea how that even works,any help wou;d be appreciated
