Neutral safety switch on IH-574

I just purchased a IH-574 and the wiring is a mess. There is no safety switch to prevent it from starting in gear. It fires quickly and has plenty of power, therefore it is a real danger. I have learned to check it myself but I'm more concerned about those that are not quite as familiar with the machine. I assume it came from the factory with a safety switch but I cannot find any shop manuals to look over the wiring diagrams, the two local dealerships both have the books missing. One of the techs thought the switch was on the shifter, the other thought it was on the clutch. Any help please.
