I have a 706 gas w/3200 hours that I recently bought. The park lock was frozen so I freed it up and it seemd to work fine until I parked on a hill and the minute I dropped the brake, there was a bad noise & the tractor started rolling. Parking brake doesn't work very well anymore. I mention this incase there's some relation. Then I was working it on a project that required a quite a bit of backing up. Well, I noticed some blue smoke while moving forward with the clutch engaged (thought it must be from some other source) and now it is difficult to shift into low range. Reverse seems OK, but it's like something is binding when you try to shift into low range. Also, pulled the hydraulic dip stick and it looks like something has been rubbing on it (just got the tractor and only pulled it once before & can't remember if it was that way then). Hydraulic fluid has a burnt smell. Maybe non of the above is related, but I'd appreciate any ideas on what might be causing the binding - works ok when in gear. Thanks.
