Clutch pedal SM-TA?

I've never installed a new clutch, so I'm not sure specificly about the question I'm about to ask. But a few day's ago I had a new clutch installed in my SM-TA. Well now since then my clutch pedal travels about 2" before it disengages the clutch, where as before it was like 3/4". I got used to the quicker response when I pushed the pedal and think it should be that way or even better with the new clutch. Am I wrong? The guy who did the job said it's now the way it should be and that before it was wrong. He said that before the throw out bearing was to close to the clutch face, and that there should be 1/8" clearance. Is he right? Maybe I can learn more after some input, Thankyou to anyone who responds. Mark R
