What you say is true. However, this question comes up over and over again. We were running detergent oil in our tractors in the 50's. Unless the tractor has not been run for 50+ years, is there any chance of it having non-detergent oil in it? Or, are people buying old tractors and putting non-detergent oil in them, simply because it is still available and they think it is right? You are going to find glop in a tractor running detergent oil if it hasn't been properly maintained, same thing will happen (stuff breaking loose) once it has the oil changed. Hope I don't open a can of worms with this, but that's OK too.
