For my H (almost same as 300) I used no sealants. If you have pits in the head, or otherwise unsmooth surfaces, I would use a high-temp silicone sealant. Do not use anymore than you have to. I torqued my bolts to 40 foot pounds. I think that is plenty. As for the casting sand, didn't have any of that with my manifold. Pressure wash, use pressurized air or warm soapy water works good for that too. Good luck! Steven
