Krey - A reading 13.5 to 14.5 is a normal reading for a VOLTMETER. One the other hand if you still have the a stock AMMETER (will be marked either 20-0-20 or D-0-C), it will peg briefly on the charge side after startup. The reading should taper off and and settle at an indication of just a few amps of charge (to the right of 0) as the battery reaches full charge. A continuous AMMETER reading of +10 amps after running the tractor a couple hours means the battery is being overcharged.
