Can anyone tell me what the top engine RPM would be for an IH 350 Farmall gas? The tach and book indicate 1,750 rpm for the pto work and a total of up to 2,400 rpm on the tach face. I have a rebuilt tach that only reaches about 1,650 rpm at top speed and am told that the tach needs to be recalibrated. I am told by one man who works on a lot of these tractors that the top end for rpm should be about 1,900 rpm. Is that correct or should it be higher. I guess the next avenue is to put it on a dyno and measure it that way. Any ideas? I would like to have the thing accurate. Thanks for your help!
