Dead Mag

The Mag on one of my F-20's has died while setting. It was dificult to start the last time I started it. Now the Mag is dead. Can I put a new magnet to bring it back to life - this will avoid having to re-timing. Or, do other parts need to be replaced? Suggestions appreciated!
