yes you can convert to electric start with an alternator that will not mess up the hood. get a very small one from the parts store made for some of these small cars and make the bracket so it work with and offset so you do not have to cut the hood. Now a guage is not required but an on and off switch is ... got to have some way to cut the current from the alternator off and not drain batter but you can stay with the mag you have on it too so hey.. a lot of things work. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KEEP IT ORGINAL .
