My I&T shop manual lists the following information for M crankpins. M prior to 278050 2.4975-2.4985 others 2.5475-2.5485. Running clearences M prior to 278050 0.002-0.003 others 0.0011-0.0037. Side play M prior to 278050 0.008-0.012 others 0.005-0.012. Replacement bearings appear to be avalable in Std, 0.002, 0.010, and 0.020 oversize. Rod bearings are renewable from below, just drop the oil pan, flatten the washers that lock the bearing cap bolts and unscrew bolts. Bearing should slip right out. Just did this to my SMTA, took about 4 hours. Used a pair of vice-grips to bend new lock washers, one jaw on bolt head the other on washer, took about 4 bites to get washer locked right.
