As others have said check the clearances on the already installed parts. I do not find it odd that you cannot turn the engine by hand. I would be concerned if you could turn it by hand with 3 pistons in. New rings have a lot of friction. Keep going as you are checking things. Make sure you turn the engine over at least one complete revolution after installing each piston and rod.
