The distributor can be removed and easily put back in the wrong place so that the rotor is not pointing in the right directon. been there, fixed that. (I didnt do it but the fellow before me thought he had burnt valves) and all it was was distributor miss-installed. Everyone is on to something here so check out what they are saying.
