trans oil

OK, I have just discovered that I cannot afford IH HyTran oil (farmall 400). Will WalMart 85/140 or 80/90 work? I think that is what is in there now but hard to tell. Sorry if this question seems reduant and I know from reading the archives this is a debated point. But being very new to farmalls I would like to find out what most are using and maybe why. I do not need to have anything else damaged on this tractor for lack of incorrect or no maintenance.
Another consideration is that it very seldom drops below 10 degrees here.

I assume that filling trans/ta is done from the access cover next to the gear shift?
