I KNOW exactly what you mean when looking back at the way your Grandfather lived. I'd simply say this....go for it. And most of all try your damndest to have fun doing it. I'm betting you'll get it all figured out, and your equipment will work great and your kids will learn more than you'll ever know. Only one note of caution.....and this is the #1 thing...(especially where kids and wife are concerned) Be CAREFUL doing it....maybe thats a life lesson to!!! Good Luck.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
