First I would look thru the door in the bottom of the clutch housing with a flashlight to see if the clutch disc is stripped. You may not be able to see it very good but if the center is broken out of it there will be some pieces falling out. Your pressure plate is still pulling because you have steering and hitch pumps working. If there was no evidence there I would take the top off the range trans and look. Basically, exploratory surgery until you find the problem starting with the easiest first.
