I can give you some first hand knowledge on that one. I did not buy my 656 new, it was a 1967 and I bought it from a neighbour in 1971. I had operated this same tractor as a demo when it was new. My tractor was a diesel, truly was the finest and most economical tractor I have ever owned. Here is the list of tractors I farmed with SA, SM, 300, 130, 560D, 504, 656D, 1066, Cockshutt 540, two Case and one Deere. I have operated many other newer tractors since CaseIH, Deere, Massey and Kubota. Farmall 656D is still number one in my book. I pulled a 5x16 semi-mount plow with mine, and will agree on a mower conditioner is where they really shine.
