Thanks Bill. Sounds like your tractor and mine have the same setup. You are right. There is only room for one, either the transmission or the road gear, but not both. My pump mounts in between clutch and transmission too and it is a heavy hunk of iron. I have a road gear on the tractor now but hardly use it. Besides that, where I live (west of Pittsburgh) driving a tractor on the road is just not safe. I'd rather have hydraulic power than speed. The increase in speed with the road gear is not that much anyway. I can hardly tell the difference between road gear mode vs 4th gear.
