Chances are your A will run fine with the mag so long as the mag is in good condition. Unlike coil/distributor ignition, a magneto's output INCREASES with increasing speed - better matching the ignition requirements of high compression combustion chambers. (That's why mags continue to be used on aircraft, high performance racing engines, etc....) Just make sure the mag is in clean inside, properly adjusted and you use solid copper (not RF surpression or resistor) plug wires.
