My original owners manual says 5 1/2 quarts on the engine. If you've drained the oil, just open the top check cock, and pour oil in until it dribbles out. I use straight 30 wt. You'll get a big argument on what to use, but frankly, I don't think it matters. If the engine hasn't been rebuilt, and has been running on non-detergent, I would NOT recommend changing to a detergent oil.

Transmission tub is 4 gallons according to my manual. I use 80-90 Gear oil, some use a multigrade where the upper number is 140 (don't recall the lower). Again, don't think it matters a heck of a lot.
