Thor: All I was trying to do is jolt you on the importance of keeping a TA and clutch adjustment very precise. It would be a hard one to describe on forum. When you get your manual bring it to the exact measurements they call for. I have suffered through more self professed experts on forums giving rules on use of a TA. As far as I am concerned there are only two rules; keep clutch and TA adjusted and never allow the tractor to free wheel. I had five of these TA Farmalls (one of them a 300) put a total of 60,000 hours on the five and only replaced one TA. I apologize if I seem to be a bit of crochety old man. I have seen too many people giving Farmalls a bad name as result of their own neglect. I didn't want you to become one of them.
