Thank you Gene. I have gone into the archives and read many of your responses to troubled tractor owners like myself. I will check my wiring again. When you talk about the screws that hold the drive together for the rotor --- are you talking about 1. the two bolts that hold the mag to the engine? or 2.the 2 gear cover screws on the distributor body on either side of the rotor sprindle? I don't think I can do anything with the 3 cap screws. Thank you again for your response and the replies you have given others. I have printed out much of your advice to other TTO's. Today I'm going to remove my valve housing cover, check the valves, and flush the valve and valve operating mechanism. I'll also drain the crankcase and flush it out with kerosene. Kurt
