You've done all that work, you should replace the lower bushing. I would suggest you try to cut it out with a hack-saw blade. Pounding it out is difficult. Maybe your local IH dealer can lend you a pulling tool. Most likely you steering bolster shaft is okay, the bushings are suppost to wear out first. I guess you'll just have to try a new one and see how it fits.

You are correct on the bushing's hole location for the zerk fitting.
