Stage #1 had the Lift-All belly pump like a regular H. It just had disc brakes, bigger pistons and a few other improvements like the faster 2nd, 3rd & 4th gears and some durability improvements in the engine and transmission like bigger clutch & pilot bearings. Guy Fay spells the differences out in His Letter Series Restoration guide. Stage #II has all the updates as the stage #1 PLUS live Hyd. L PTO was however NOT avail until the T/A was out on the 300. Actually for mowing hay, the Super H with live Hyd. was THE BEST. Sickle plugs up You hit the clutch & everything stops...except the hyd.,... raise the sickle, shift to rev and the PTO starts running clearing the plug.... shift into 4th, pull back up, drop the sickle & GO. I mowered with a '39 H and You were ALWAYS clutching... The Super M-TA was almost as bad! Nothing like Alfalfa to plug a worn-out sickle mower!
