I second Don LC's procedure. That would be the best way to do it. I have had tractors get a little stuck from just a few months of storage. And batteries will freeze and leak acid. Used motor oil does contain acids that eat bearings, ALWAYS change oil before storing for an extended period of time.

Again, I second Don LC's procedure as that is what I have read in owner's manuals for snowmobiles and other equipment.
