The more I think about it, sy-cr-603 is most likely not the serial number, as number series tractors should not have letters in front of the serial number. However, when the tractor was equipped with certain options, suffix letters were stamped after the serial number to signify these options. On my 240, the first number of the serial number is stamped about 3/4" from the left edge of the tag, and the bottom of the serial number is about 3/4" from the bottom of the tag.
