Lot's of posts in the archives on this common problem. Check all the tie rods for play in the joints. If any are loose, you may be able to tighten up with the adjusting screws in the ball sockets. Caution though, as the balls wear to an egg shape and if you get them tight when the steeing is centered, they may be so tight you can't turn all the way to the stops. Check the center steering arm to see that is it tight to the steering gear shaft. Sometimes the retainer nut works loose. It's hard to get to to tighten it up. You may have to remove the front axle to get a wrench on it. The shaft is tapered with a key. Sometimes the key slots wear and that causes play. Also check your steering shaft by jacking up the front end and pulling or pushing on the steering wheel. If you can move it in forward or back, the ball bearing on the worm gear is worn out. It's easy to replace by removing the big plug in the front of the steering gear and then screwing out the worm gear. The end of the shaft has a cotter key and a castle nut to hold the bearing on. These are about all you can do without removing the steering gear housing and doing a complete rebuild with new bearings on the worm wheel(sector gear) shaft, and possibly a new gear. New gears will be expensive, good used ones are hard to find. The steering shaft and the worm gear are all one piece.
