Sure sounds like to much gas. Here is a quick check. Next time you are ready to shut it down turn off the gas and let it run until it stops on it's own. Be sure to shut off the switch after it has stoped. Then the next time turn on the gas just before you are ready to start it. If it starts right, then you are flooding and the carb is your problem.
