Scott: Just a follow up, there was nothing stupid about your questions. Your descriptions were very well done, and you took the time and necessary words to zero in on problem. I knew by your description you were describing a number series tractor with TA and IPTO. You didn't even tell us it was a Farmall 400. That 400 should start away in low on TA and in 5th gear. When moving shift TA into high. Farmalls were not built for speed shifting they were built for pulling and PTOing.
