There were only two gas engines avalible in the 706, the C-263 and later on, the C-291. We've got one with the C-263. It's great for starting cold in the winter, but it's a real gas hog. Personally, I would look for a late 706 with the D-310 German Diesel, or a 756. Also, if your're going to work it hard, don't buy a gasser unless it has a working TA (you'll need the extra pulling power). Our's came from the factory with no TA, and it will run out of power sometimes. Is the turbocharged diesel a 282 or a 310?
