Bill, Look under the number 1 spark plug and the serial number for the engine will be stamped on a raised area. The engine number and tractor number should be the same or close, if the engine has not been changed. You may have to scrape some grease and paint to see it, but it is there. number 1 plug is the first on behind the radiator. Go to the serial number link to the left and look the year. Good luck
