560 had a weak rear end. They were recalled and most were fixed with better parts. Haven't heard of broken axles. Any Farmall with that type wheel will break the axle clamp if it isn't tightened properly. This is not a defect, but a malfunction of the operator. Tell your neighbor to find something better to do.
