I haven't done it myself, but I have seen it on several tractors. Some mount it on the side of the engine and get a long belt to run the pump from the same pulleys as the generator, I have also seen a power steering pump on the back of the tractor running off a V belt pulley mounted on the shaft that drives the flat belt pulley. In 60 plus years modifications were only limited by the imagination of the owner. The only drawback to a power steering pump is that they don't have a lot of capacity.
