To help keep it steady while the back end is all apart, I recommend putting a long heavy pipe (6 feet or so) through the cultivator bracket just behind the steering gear. Use the same cultivator bolts that you tighten to put the cultivators on and really clamp it in place. Then block up each end of the pipe. This will keep the engine from flopping over. It's especially important when you pull the right (long axle) side, because I am not sure how well the tractor balances on the short left axle. I'd also block up under the torque tube. Also, I would pull the differential bearing housings on each side as well. This makes the seals easier to replace, and you can inspect the bearings for broken races or roller cage (which is what I had). The triangular housing and shims must be put back the exact same way they came out or the holes won't line up. I also beveled the inside edge of the seals with a file a bit to make them easier to drive into the bearing housing. Also remember that they go with the rubber lip facing in towards the differential (each side gets two seals, and they may not be identical..look at them carefully).
