The A & B share so many parts that one could be made into the other without too much trouble. Some things to look for: Does the left side rear wheel attach directly to the transmission/differential housing like an A? Or does it stand out about 2 feet like a B? Does the right side of the seat support bracket attach to the same bolts as the right side fender like an A? Or does it bolt to the top of the differential shaft housing like a B? Does the bottom of the grill fit properly or is it bent or cut to clear the front cultivator attachment points of an A front axle? If it's a B grill, it needs a little "modification" to fit an A front axle. Does the tractor serial number match the engine serial number? Below about 200,000 it should match. If it doesn't, somebody may have put a seat bracket, along with the serial number plate, from a salvage yard B on it. A lot could have been changed over 50 - 60 years.
