Hugh, I live in Nebraska. The two sizes of SAE grease zerks that I deal with on tractors/equip. are 1/4-28 NF (a bolt thread) and 1/8 NPT (a pipe thread). The bigger of the two of course is the 1/8 pipe. A 1/8 NPT straight zerk will screw right into the lubrication points on Farmall distributers. I always assumed they were 1/8 pipe plugs and not 3/8 NF as you suggest. Perhaps I'm wrong.
