I would put some more hours on it before I started worrying too much. Puff of smoke at starting usually indicates valeve stems not sealing so a small amount of oil runs down the stem when the engine is shut off. With the compression you have the rigns must be good. You may have one valve guide that is a little large but even if this problem keeps up after breakin it really isn't that bad. At least you know the valves are getting lube
