I measure from the top of the bowl casting to the bottom of the float. I have a picture in my manual that illustrates measuring it from the front of the float and it also illustrates the gasket being on. I dont understand the drill bit procedure, but maybe someone else can be of better assistance. I only know enough to be dangerous??
